Quarter Brigade Activities for 2008: There will be 2 car washes this year, one was held on May 31st and the next one will be August 16 at Shaeffer Station, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Schwan's truck will be there part of the day. Aluminum can pick-up - If you have any you want to donate, call any of the non-emergency numbers to have them picked up, or take them to Shaeffer Station when there is an event going on. Magnetic bumper sticker ribbons - red, white and blue striped tails, blue star filled loop, and the center cut-out is heart-shaped with a maltese cross firefighter emblem on it. Temporary Tatoos - various styles and sizes, primarily fire department related emblems. These will be for sale at all fundraising events. Trunk-R-Treat Halloween party on Friday, October 31, 2008, at Shaeffer Station. Lots of games, candy and treats for everyone. If you can donate candy, prizes or time call one of the non-emergency numbers or email auxiliary@peninsulafiredepartment.org The Quarter Brigade is composed of children under the age of 18 whose parents are dues paid members of the Peninsula Fire Department. The meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at Shaeffer Station. All proceeds from the Quarter Brigade activities go to the fire department and to fund the next fundraising event. The kids treat themselves to a small morale boosting party after each fundraiser. Quarter Brigade Events of 2007: Aluminum can pick-up - picked up aluminum cans from various households, plus collecting the empties from auxiliary supplied drinks for the fire department. Candles - sold them through a commercially provided fundraiser source.
